The Main Objective Of The Workers Welfare Board Sindh Is To Facilitate The Industrial Workers By Providing Them Free Of Cost Modern Education, Scholarships, Death Grant, Grant In Aid For Marriage And State Of The Art Housing Facilities In order To Help Them Acquire Socio-Economic Prosperity And Development.
The Workers Welfare Board Sindh is a body corporate working under the Sindh Worker.
Welfare Fund Act 2014 after 18th constitutional amendment. Before the 18th amendment/devolution, the Board was working under the Workers Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 by Federal Government. Workers Welfare Fund as per Sindh Workers Welfare Fund Act 2014 and Workers Profit Participation Fund is payable by Industrial nits which are established in the Province of Sindh. These contributions/ collections are allocated/disbursed the as per following formula: 2% Of The Net Total Income Of Establishment Having More Than Rs.5,00,000/- In A Year.5%The Left Over Amount Of Workers Profit Participation Fund Deposited Directly By Establishments.
By the strength of 2753 Employees Workers Welfare Board Sindh Serves 8919 students studying in various grades from primary to Metric in morning as well as evening shifts under the network of Model Schools run by Workers Welfare Board Sindh, In addition to this Educational Facilities are also provided in these Schools i.e Books , Copies, Shoes, Bags, Uniforms & Stationary.
For better accommodation for the industrial workers Workers Welfare Board Construct 10268 no of Flats out of which 5500 Flats are completed. For Housing there are Total 6657 Houses out of which 6657 are Completed. For Each Housing Scheme Workers Welfare Board construct 14 Hospitals ( 10 Bedded) Dispensaries, Kidney Centre Landhi for various housing schemes & 10 Vocational Training Centers (Industrial Homes 6 Secretariat Training Centers due to which a 12157 No of Industrial Workers Accommodate in different housing schemes of Workers Welfare Board Sindh.
Till Date Workers Welfare Board Sindh. facilitate 883 Workers for Grant in Aid (For Marriage),447 For Scholarships & 305 for Death Grant amounting to Rupees in Millions 76.930,36.243 & 148.300 respectively.
